The Secretary of Defense shall conduct a study on the use and implementation of the authority of section 1210A of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 ( Public Law 116–92 ; 133 Stat. 1626), relating to Department of Defense support for stabilization activities in national security interest of the United States. The study required by subsection
(a)shall include the following: A review of the use and implementation of the authority of section 1210A of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020. An identification of the number of requests for support made by the Department of State, the United States Agency for International Development, and other Federal agencies pursuant to such authority and number of such requests granted by the Department of Defense. An identification of the total amount of support provided by the Department of Defense pursuant to such requests so granted. The Secretary of Defense shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report that contains the results of the study required by subsection (a). In this subsection, the term appropriate congressional committees means— congressional defense committees; and the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate.
