Section 351 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2018 ( Public Law 115–91 ; 131 Stat. 1367; 32 U.S.C. 501 note) is amended to read as follows: The Secretary of the Army and the Secretary of the Air Force, in consultation with the Chief of the National Guard Bureau, may provide support for the training of appropriate personnel of the National Guard on wildfire prevention and response. In carrying out this section, the Secretaries— shall give a preference to personnel assigned to military installations with the highest wildfire suppression needs, as determined by the Secretaries; and may consult with the Executive Board of the National Interagency Fire Center. .
