Sec. 705. Disposition of proceeds

Of the proceeds from the sale of Federal land under section 702 of this title— five percent shall be disbursed to the State of Nevada for use in the general education program of the State; and the remainder shall be deposited in a special account in the Treasury of the United States, to be known as the Churchill County Special Account , which shall be available to the Secretary of the Interior, without further appropriation, for— the reimbursement of costs incurred by the Secretary in preparing for a sale or exchange of Federal land under this title; and the acquisition of land (including interests in land) in the County— for inclusion in a component of the National Wilderness Preservation System or a national conservation area designated by this division; that protects other environmentally significant land; that is identified as a management priority area under section 703 of this title; or that secures public access to Federal land for hunting, fishing, and other recreational purposes.
The proceeds from the sale of Federal land under section 702 of this title shall not be used for the acquisition of any water rights.
