Sec. 2117. Authorization of appropriations for the Department of Energy

There is authorized to be appropriated to the Department of Energy $1,000,000,000 for fiscal year 2022 to carry out research and development and address energy-related supply chain activities within the key technology focus areas. There is authorized to be appropriated to the Department of Energy $1,800,000,000 for fiscal year 2023 to carry out research and development and address energy-related supply chain activities within the key technology focus areas. There is authorized to be appropriated to the Department of Energy $3,700,000,000 for fiscal year 2024 to carry out research and development and address energy-related supply chain activities within the key technology focus areas.
There is authorized to be appropriated to the Department of Energy $4,900,000,000 for fiscal year 2025 to carry out research and development and address energy-related supply chain activities within the key technology focus areas. There is authorized to be appropriated to the Department of Energy $5,500,000,000 for fiscal year 2026 to carry out research and development and address energy-related supply chain activities within the key technology focus areas. The amounts authorized to be appropriated under this section shall supplement, and not supplant, any other amounts previously authorized to be appropriated to the Department of Energy.
No funds provided to the Department of Energy under this section shall be used for construction.
