Funding made available under the headings U.S. Customs and Border Protection—Operations and Support and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement—Operations and Support may be used to provide or reimburse third-parties for the provision of COVID-19 testing and shelter for the purpose of voluntary isolation of persons encountered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection after entering the United States along the southwest border and deemed inadmissible under section 212(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act ( 8 U.S.C. 1182(a) ).
Such testing and shelter shall be provided immediately after such persons leave Department of Homeland Security custody. For purposes of this section, funds may only be used in States or jurisdictions that do not have an agreement with the Federal government for the provision or reimbursement of such services.
