Not later than March 1, 2022, the Comptroller General of the United States shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and House of Representatives a report on legacy platforms within the Department of Defense and the projected relevance and resiliency of such platforms to emerging threats over the next 50 years. Such report shall include— the results of a survey of all services, agencies, and entities within the Department of Defense, including hardware, weapons systems, basing, and force structure; an emphasis on agility, technology, and an expanded forward footprint; and recommendations with respect to future force structure and investment.
