Congress finds the following: The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration promotes United States science and innovation by providing weather forecasts, severe storm warnings, and climate monitoring that support and affect more than one-third of the national gross domestic product. The Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research provides science that enables better forecasts, earlier warnings for natural disasters, and a greater understanding of the Earth. The cutting-edge research conducted at OAR provides citizens, planners, and emergency managers reliable information that is critical to daily life.
Of amounts otherwise available to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, there are authorized to be appropriated for the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research— $614,000,000 for fiscal year 2022; $665,000,000 for fiscal year 2023; $720,000,000 for fiscal year 2024; $780,000,000 for fiscal year 2025; $845,000,000 for fiscal year 2026; $915,000,000 for fiscal year 2027; $990,000,000 for fiscal year 2028; $1,072,000,000 for fiscal year 2029; $1,146,000,000 for fiscal year 2030; and $1,228,000,000 for fiscal year 2031.
