In this Act: The term applicant flow data means data that tracks the rate of applications for job positions among demographic categories. The term appropriate congressional committees means— the Committee on Foreign Relations, the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, the Select Committee on Intelligence, and the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate; and the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Homeland Security, the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives.
The term diversity means diversity of persons based on gender, race, ethnicity, disability status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, and other demographic categories. The term Foreign Service has the meaning given that term in section 102 of the Foreign Service Act of 1980 ( 22 U.S.C. 3902 ). The term intelligence community has the meaning given that term in section 3 of the National Security Act of 1947 ( 50 U.S.C. 3003 ). The term national security agency means— the Department of State; the United States Agency for International Development; the Department of Defense; the Armed Forces; each element of the intelligence community; the Office of International Affairs and the Office of Critical Infrastructure Protection of the Department of the Treasury; the National Security Division of the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation; the Department of Homeland Security; the Foreign Agricultural Service of the Department of Agriculture; and any other Federal agency that is primarily engaged in diplomacy, development, defense, intelligence, law enforcement, or homeland security.
The term member of the Foreign Service means a member of the Foreign Service described in section 103 of the Foreign Service Act of 1980 ( 22 U.S.C. 3903 ). The term workforce means an individual serving in a position— in the civil service (as defined in section 2101 of title 5, United States Code); as a member of the Foreign Service; or as an officer or enlisted member of an armed force.
