Section 40801(b) of the Violence Against Women Act of 1994 ( 34 U.S.C. 12421(b) ) is amended— in paragraph (2)(A), by striking clause
(iv)and inserting the following: conduct cross-training for law enforcement agencies and other first responders, prosecutors, agencies of States or units of local government, attorneys, health care providers, population specific organizations, faith-based leaders, victim advocates, victim service providers, and courts to better serve victims of abuse in later life, including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, exploitation or neglect. ; in paragraph (3)— in subparagraph (A)(iv), by striking over 50 years of age and inserting 50 years of age or over ; and in subparagraph (B)(iv), by striking in later life and inserting 50 years of age or over ; and in paragraph (5), by striking $9,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2014 through 2018 and inserting $9,900,000 for each of fiscal years 2020 through 2029 . The amendments made by paragraphs
(1)and
(2)of subsection
(a)shall not take effect until October 1, 2020.
