Sec. 1606. Report on establishment of position of Under Secretary of the Air Force for Space

Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Air Force shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the advisability of establishing within the Department of the Air Force a position of Under Secretary of the Air Force for Space with the responsibility of providing civilian oversight to the United States Space Force (as provided for by section 1604 of this Act). In preparing the report required by subsection (a), the Secretary shall take into consideration the tasks and operations of the staff of the Air Force in support of the space warfighting mission of the Air Force and such other matters as the Secretary considers appropriate.
