Section 18004(c) of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (P.L. 116–136) is amended by striking to cover any costs associated with significant changes to the delivery of instruction due to the coronavirus and inserting to defray expenses (including lost revenue, reimbursement for expenses already incurred, technology costs associated with a transition to distance education, faculty and staff trainings, payroll) incurred by institutions of higher education. : , That amounts repurposed pursuant to the amendment made by this section that were previously designated by the Congress as an emergency requirement pursuant to the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985 are designated by the Congress as an emergency requirement pursuant to section 251(b)(2)(A)(i) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985.
