The remaining unobligated balances of funds made available to Department of Education—Office of Inspector General in title VIII of division B of the CARES Act ( Public Law 116–136 ) are hereby rescinded, and an amount of additional new budget authority equivalent to the amount rescinded is hereby appropriated, for an additional amount for fiscal year 2021, to remain available until expended, for the same purposes and under the same authorities as they were originally appropriated, and shall be in addition to any other funds available for such purposes: , That the amounts appropriated by this section may also be used for investigations and are available until expended:
Provided , That amounts rescinded pursuant to this section that were previously designated by the Congress as an emergency requirement pursuant to the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985 are designated by the Congress as being for an emergency requirement pursuant to section 251(b)(2)(A)(i) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985: Provided further , That such amount is designated by the Congress as being for an emergency requirement pursuant to section 251(b)(2)(A)(i) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985.
