Not later than 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, and quarterly thereafter, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report that includes— the number of members of the Armed Forces deployed by each geographic combatant command (other than United States Northern Command), set forth separately by each of the Armed Forces and whether regular, National Guard, or Reserve; the number of Department of Defense civilian employees deployed by each geographic combatant command (other than United States Northern Command); the number of Department of Defense contractor employees deployed by each geographic combatant command (other than United States Northern Command); and for each category of personnel described in paragraphs
(1)through (3), the country and named operation to which such personnel are assigned, if applicable; a description of the functions performed by such personnel; and a comparison of the number of personnel to the number of such personnel in reports previously submitted under this section. Each report under subsection
(a)shall be submitted in unclassified form, but may include a classified annex.
