Sec. 150104. Continuing education at affected foreign institutions

Section 3510 of the CARES Act ( Public Law 116–136 ) is amended— in subsection (a), by striking national emergency declared and inserting national emergency related to the coronavirus declared ; in subsection (b), by striking qualifying emergency and inserting emergency or disaster affecting the institution as described in subsection
(a); in subsection (c), by striking qualifying emergency and inserting applicable emergency or disaster as described in subsection
(a); and in subsection (d)— in paragraph (1)— by striking for the duration of a qualifying emergency and the following payment period, and inserting with respect to a foreign institution, in the case of a public health emergency, major disaster or emergency, or national emergency related to the coronavirus declared by the applicable government authorities in the country in which the foreign institution is located, or in the case of a qualifying emergency, ; and by inserting , for the duration of the applicable emergency or disaster and the following payment period, after 1087a et seq.) ; and in paragraph (4)— by striking qualifying emergency and inserting applicable emergency or disaster ; and by striking the period at the end and inserting , the name of the institution of higher education located in the United States that has entered into a written arrangement with such foreign institution, and information regarding the nature of such written arrangement, including which coursework or program requirements are accomplished at each respective institution. . The amendments made by subsection
(a)shall take effect as if included in the enactment of the CARES Act ( Public Law 116–136 ).
