Subchapter II of chapter 75 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new section: The Secretary of the military department concerned, the agency head of a Defense Agency or Department of Defense Field Activity, or the Secretary of Homeland Security, as appropriate, may provide round trip travel and transportation allowances in connection with ceremonies for the transfer of a Department of Defense or Coast Guard civilian employee who dies while located or serving overseas to eligible relatives and provide for the accompaniment of such persons to the same extent as the Secretary of Defense may provide such travel and transportation allowances and accompaniment services to such persons with respect to a deceased service member under chapter 8 of title 37. .
The table of contents at the beginning of such subchapter is amended by adding at the end the following new item: 1492. Authority to provide travel and transportation allowances in connection with transfer ceremonies of department of defense and coast guard civilian employees who die overseas. . Section 481f(d) of title 37, United States Code, is amended— in the subsection heading, by striking and inserting Transportation to ; and Travel and transportation allowances in connection with in paragraph
