Section 9280 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— by striking Airman's Medal each place it appears and inserting Air and Space Force Medal ; and in subsection (a)(1), by inserting or the Space Force after the Air Force . The heading of such section is amended to read as follows: . The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 937 of such title is amended by striking the item relating to section 9280 and inserting the following new item: 9280. Air and Space Force Medal: award; limitations. .
The President shall ensure that the design of the Air and Space Force Medal and accompanying ribbon (and any related bar or device) awarded under section 9280 of title 10, United States Code (as amended by subsection (a)), differs in an appropriate manner from the design of the Airman's Medal and accompanying ribbon, bar, or device awarded under section 9280 of title 10, United States Code, as such section was in effect on the date before the date of the enactment of this Act.
