As soon as practicable after the date of the enactment of this Act and subject to the availability of appropriations, the Secretary of the Air Force shall seek to achieve a minimum of not fewer than 386 available operational squadrons, or equivalent organizational units, within the Air Force. In addition to the operational squadrons, the Secretary shall strive to achieve the following primary mission aircraft inventory
(PMAI)numbers: 1,680 Fighter aircraft. 199 Persist attack remotely piloted aircraft (RPA). 225 Bomber aircraft. 500 Air refueling aircraft. 286 Tactical airlift aircraft. 284 Strategic airlift aircraft. 55 Command and control aircraft. 105 Combat search and rescue
(CSAR)aircraft. 30 Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance
(ISR)aircraft. 179 Special operations aircraft. 40 Electronic warfare
(EW)aircraft.
