Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Transportation shall submit to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Environment and Public Works of the Senate a report that describes the efforts of the Department of Transportation to encourage elementary, secondary, and post-secondary students to pursue careers in the surface transportation sector. The report required under subsection
(a)shall include— a description of efforts to increase awareness of careers related to surface transportation among elementary, secondary, and post-secondary students; a description of efforts to prepare and inspire such students for surface transportation careers; a description of efforts to support the development of a diverse, well-qualified workforce for future surface transportation needs; and the effectiveness of the efforts described in paragraphs
(1)through (3).
