The Secretary, in consultation with the Secretary of the Interior, shall examine and assess the extent to which Indians (as defined in section 4 of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act ( 25 U.S.C. 5304 )) have been displaced as a result of the construction of the Bonneville Dam, Oregon. The examination and assessment under subsection
(a)may include assessments relating to housing and related facilities. If the Secretary determines, based on the examination and assessment under subsection (a), that assistance is required, the Secretary may use all existing authorities of the Secretary to provide assistance to Indians that have been displaced as a result of the construction of the Bonneville Dam, Oregon. Section 1178(c)(1)(A) of the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act (130 Stat. 1675) is amended by striking Upon the request of the Secretary of the Interior, the Secretary may provide assistance and inserting The Secretary, in consultation with the Secretary of the Interior, may provide assistance .
