Paragraph
(2)of section 7451(c) is amended to read as follows: The maximum rate of basic pay for any grade for health-care personnel positions referred to in paragraphs
(1)and
(3)of section 7401 of this title (other than the positions of physician, dentist, and registered nurse) may not exceed the rate of basic pay established for positions in level IV of the Executive Schedule under section 5315 of title 5. Pursuant to an adjustment under subsection (d), the maximum rate of basic pay for a registered nurse serving as a nurse executive or a grade for the position of certified registered nurse anesthetist may exceed the rate of basic pay established for positions in level IV of the Executive Schedule under section 5315 of title 5 but may not exceed the rate of basic pay established for positions in level I of the Executive Schedule under section 5312 of title 5. Pursuant to an adjustment under subsection (d), the maximum rate of basic pay for all registered nurses not described in subparagraph
(B)may exceed the rate of basic pay established for positions in level IV of the Executive Schedule under section 5315 of title 5 but may not exceed the rate of basic pay established for positions in level III of the Executive Schedule under section 5314 of title 5. .
