Not later than 2 years after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General of the United States shall prepare and submit to the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions of the Senate and the Committee on Education and the Workforce of the House of Representatives a report on the projects carried out with covered funds. The report under subsection
(a)shall include an assessment of— the types of projects carried out with covered funds; the geographic distribution of the projects; an assessment of the impact of the projects on the health and safety of school staff and students; and how the Secretary or States could make covered funds more accessible— to public elementary or secondary schools with the highest numbers and percentages of students counted under section 1124(c) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 6333(c) ); and to public elementary or secondary schools with fiscal challenges in raising capital for school infrastructure projects. The Comptroller General shall update and resubmit the report to the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions of the Senate and the Committee on Education and the Workforce of the House of Representatives— on a date that is between 5 and 6 years after the date of enactment of this Act; and on a date that is between 10 and 11 years after such date of enactment.
