Sec. 107. Termination of certain provisions authorizing medical care to veterans through non-Department of Veterans Affairs providers

Section 603of title 38, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: The authority of the Secretary to carry out this section terminates on the date on which the Secretary certifies to the Committees on Veterans’ Affairs of the House of Representatives and the Senate that the Secretary is fully implementing section 1703A of this title. . Section 1712(a) of such title is amended— in paragraph (3), by striking under clause (1), (2), or
(5)of section 1703(a) of this title and inserting under the VA Care in the Community Program ; and in paragraph (4)(A), in the first sentence— by striking and section 1703 of this title and inserting and the VA Care in the Community Program (with respect to such a year beginning on or after the date on which the Secretary commences implementation of the VA Care in the Community Program) ; and by striking in section 1703 of this title and inserting under the VA Care in the Community Program . Section 1712A(e)(1) of such title is amended by striking (under sections 1703(a)(2) and 1710(a)(1)(B) of this title) and inserting (under the VA Care in the Community Program) . Section 2303(a)(2)(B)(i) of such title is amended by striking in accordance with section 1703 of this title and inserting under the VA Care in the Community Program . Section 1866(a)(1)(L) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1395cc(a)(1)(L) ) is amended— by striking under section 1703 of title 38 and inserting under the VA Care in the Community Program (as defined in section 1701(12) of title 38, United States Code) ; and by striking such section and inserting such program . Section 7409 of title 38, United States Code, is repealed. The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 74 of such title is amended by striking the item relating to section 7409. The amendments made by subsections
(a)and
(b)shall take effect on the date on which the Secretary certifies to the Committees on Veterans’ Affairs of the House of Representatives and the Senate that the Secretary is fully implementing section 1703A of title 38, United States Code, as added by section 102.
