Section 1935(e) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1396u–5(e) ) is amended— by redesignating paragraph
(4)as paragraph (6); and by inserting after paragraph
(3)the following new paragraphs: Notwithstanding any other provision of this title, financial assistance for prescription drug expenses furnished under a plan established under this subsection to a part D eligible individual who would qualify as a subsidy eligible individual under section 1860D–14(a)(3) if the individual resided in one of the 50 States or the District of Columbia shall be treated as medical assistance provided by the State plan for purposes of section 1903, without regard to whether such individual otherwise qualifies for medical assistance under this title. Notwithstanding section 1905(b), with respect to medical assistance furnished to an individual by a State under a plan established under this subsection, the Federal medical assistance percentage shall be equal to 100 percent. . Section 1905(b) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1396d(b) ) is amended in the first sentence by striking and section 1933(d) and inserting , section 1933(d), and section 1935(e)(5) . The amendments made by this section shall take effect on January 1, 2018.
