Section 1201(a) of the Food Security Act of 1985 ( 16 U.S.C. 3801(a) ) is amended— by redesignating paragraphs
(1)through
(27)as paragraphs
(2)through (28), respectively; by inserting before paragraph
(2)(as so redesignated) the following: The term acequia means an entity that— is a political subdivision of a State; is organized for the purpose of managing the operation of an irrigation ditch; and does not have the authority to impose taxes or levies. ; and in paragraph (19)(B) (as so redesignated), by inserting acequia, before or other .
