The President shall ensure that the United States Government treats every proposed arms sales for Taiwan with the same timelines, processes, and procedures, including formal notification to Congress under the Arms Export Control Act ( 22 U.S.C. 2751 et seq. ), accorded to proposed arms transfers for all other countries. Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, and annually thereafter for 5 years, the Inspectors General of the Department of State and the Department of Defense shall review and report to the appropriate congressional committees on the compliance of those departments with the requirements of subsection (a).
