In this subtitle: The term comprehensive strategy means a plan for— the remediation of the plume under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 ( 42 U.S.C. 9601 et seq. ); or corrective action under the Solid Waste Disposal Act ( 42 U.S.C. 6901 et seq. ). The term groundwater means water in a saturated zone or stratum beneath the surface of land or water. The term plume means any hazardous waste (as defined in section 1004 of the Solid Waste Disposal Act ( 42 U.S.C. 6903 )) or hazardous substance (as defined in section 101 of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 ( 42 U.S.C. 9601 )) found in the groundwater supply.
The term site means the site located at 830 South Oyster Bay Road, Bethpage, New York, 11714 (Environmental Protection Agency identification number NYD002047967).
