Section 1839(i)(5) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1395r(i)(5) ) is amended— in subparagraph (A)— in the matter preceding clause (i), by striking and 2019 and inserting and each subsequent year before the target year ; and in clause (ii), by striking beginning with 2020, August 2018 and inserting beginning with the target year, August of the calendar year that is two years before the target year ; and by adding at the end the following new subparagraph: For purposes of this paragraph, the term target year means the first calendar year after the calendar year in which at least 25 percent of individuals enrolled under this part are subject to a reduction under this subsection to the monthly amount of the premium subsidy applicable to the premium under this section. .
