Section 514(a) of title 23, United States Code, is amended— in paragraph
(4)by striking and at the end; in paragraph
(5)by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following: enhancement of the national freight system and support to national freight policy goals by conducting heavy duty vehicle demonstration activities and accelerating adoption of intelligent transportation system applications in freight operations. .
