Sec. 5515. Safety study regarding double-decker motorcoaches

The Secretary of Transportation, in consultation with State transportation safety officials, shall conduct a study regarding the safety operations, fire suppression capability, tire loads, and pavement impacts of operating a double-decker motorcoach equipped with a device designed by the motorcoach manufacturer to attach to the rear of the motorcoach for use in transporting passenger baggage. Not later than 6 months after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall submit a report containing the results of the study to— the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives; and the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate.
