Section 6 of the Reducing Over-Classification Act ( 50 U.S.C. 3161 note; Public Law 111–258 ), as amended by section 102 of this Act, is further amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: The President shall establish goals for reducing, by the date that is not later than five years after the date of the enactment of this subsection, classified information, through declassification and improved original and derivative classification decisionmaking, by not less than ten percent as compared to the amount of such information as of the day before such date.
For purposes of this subsection, classified information that would otherwise be declassified pursuant to Executive Order 13526 ( 50 U.S.C. 3161 note) or successor order shall not count towards such ten percent requirement. .
