Section 237(e) of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 ( 22 U.S.C. 2197(e) ) is amended to read as follows: Except as provided in paragraph (2), no insurance, guaranty, or reinsurance of any equity investment shall extend beyond 20 years after the date of issuance. An insurance, guaranty, or reinsurance of an equity investment in a renewable energy project in sub-Saharan Africa may extend up to 30 years after the date of issuance. .
