Section 8133 is amended— in subsection (a)— in paragraphs
(1)and (2), by striking the widow or widower, and inserting the widow or widower (or the surviving partner), ; in paragraph (2), by inserting (or the surviving partner) after for the widow or widower ; in paragraph (3), by striking no widow or widower, and inserting no widow or widower (and no surviving partner), ; and in paragraphs
(4)and (5), by striking “widower,” and inserting “widower (or surviving partner),” each place it appears; and in subsection (b)— by amending paragraph
(1)to read as follows: a widow or widower dies or remarries (or enters into a domestic partnership) (or a surviving partner dies or enters into a subsequent domestic partnership or marries) before reaching age 55; ; in paragraphs
(2)and (3), by striking marries, each place that term appears and inserting marries (or enters into a domestic partnership), ; and in the matter following paragraph (3)— in the first sentence, by striking marries. and inserting marries (or enters into a domestic partnership). ; and in the second sentence, by inserting (or domestic partner) (or a surviving partner who has entitlements to benefits under this title derived from more than 1 domestic partner or spouse) after husband or wife .
