401(k) plans during plan year Section 401(k)(12), as amended by section 206 of this Act, is amended by redesignating subparagraph
(G)as subparagraph
(H)and by inserting after subparagraph
(F)the following: Except as provided in clause (ii), an amendment to an arrangement to which this paragraph or paragraph
(13)applies may take effect during a plan year if it is adopted before the close of the plan year. Clause
(i)shall not apply to any amendment which reduces the amount of the matching contributions an employer is required to make under the arrangement as in effect before the amendment. . The amendment made by this section shall apply to plan years beginning after December 31, 2013.
