Section 2113 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 ( 20 U.S.C. 6613 ) is amended— in subsection (a)— in paragraph (1), by striking 95 and inserting 85 ; in paragraph (2), by striking and after the semicolon; by redesignating paragraph
(3)as paragraph (4); and by inserting after paragraph
(2)the following: reserve 10 percent of the funds made available through the grant to make subgrants in accordance with subsection (e); ; by redesignating subsections
(e)and
(f)as subsections
(f)and (g), respectively; and by inserting after subsection
(d)the following: A State educational agency that receives a grant under this part shall use the funds described in subsection (a)(3) to award grants, on a competitive basis, to nonprofit organizations, and other entities, with expertise and a demonstrated record of success in STEM fields to enable such organizations and entities to develop and provide professional development and instructional materials for STEM in the State. .
