Section 1139A(a)(4) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1320b–9a(a)(4)) is amended— in the heading, by striking and inserting Encourage voluntary and standardized ; Standardized by striking Not later than and inserting the following: Not later than ; and by adding at the end the following new subparagraph: Not later than five years after the date of the enactment of the CHIP Extension and Improvement Act of 2014 , the Secretary shall require that each State submit information on the core set of child health quality measures (as in effect on such date of enactment), as updated under subsection (b)(5). .
