Not later than 30 days of enactment, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall submit to Congress a request for additional beds and detention space needed to hold criminal aliens and aliens without lawful presence or lawful status. The Secretary of Homeland Security shall submit to Congress annually a report indicating the number, if any, of additional detention beds and detention space needed to hold criminal aliens and aliens without lawful presence or lawful status. Such requests are hereby authorized to be funded.
