Section 925 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 ( 42 U.S.C. 16215 ) is amended— by amending the section heading to read as follows: ; Electric transmission and distribution research and development in subsection (a), by inserting innovations for after which shall include ; in subsection (b)(1), by striking this Act and inserting the ; and ONE Future Act by amending subsection
(c)to read as follows: The Secretary shall consider implementing the program under this section using a consortium of participants from industry, institutions of higher education, and National Laboratories. To the maximum extent practicable the Secretary shall seek to— leverage existing programs; consolidate and coordinate activities, throughout the Department to promote collaboration and crosscutting approaches; ensure activities are undertaken in a manner that does not duplicate other activities within the Department or other Federal Government activities; and identify programs that may be more effectively left to the States, industry, nongovernmental organizations, institutions of higher education, or other stakeholders. .
