A candidate may use the name on the ballot by which he is generally known. Professional titles and degrees shall not appear on the ballot. If in the opinion of the officer with whom the application for nomination or election is filed the names of two
(2)or more candidates for any office to be voted on at the same election are the same or so similar as to confuse the electors as to the candidates' identity, the occupation and residence address of each of these candidates shall be printed under the candidate's name on the ballot.
