214.40 Minimum capital.
(1)A savings bank may be organized to exercise the powers conferred by this chapter with minimum capital, surplus and reserves for operating expenses as determined by the division. The division may not establish requirements for savings banks at a level less than that required for insurance of accounts. For a savings bank other than one resulting from the conversion from an existing financial institution, the division may establish capital requirements at least as stringent as those required under s. 214.43
