(1)A CDL expires in the same manner as provided in RCW 46.20.181 .
(2)When applying for renewal of a CDL, the applicant must:
(a)Complete the application form required under RCW 46.25.070 (1), providing updated information and required certifications, and meet all the requirements of RCW 46.25.070 and 49 C.F.R. Sec. 383.71; and
(b)If the applicant wishes to retain a hazardous materials endorsement, take and pass the written test for a hazardous materials endorsement.
(3)The department must not renew a CDL if the CDL holder is prohibited from operating a commercial motor vehicle based on a query of the drug and alcohol clearinghouse as provided in 49 C.F.R. Sec. 383.73.
