§ 2502. Market Vermont Program
The Market Vermont Program is hereby created. It shall be directed jointly by the Secretary of Agriculture, Food and Markets and by the Secretary of Commerce and Community Development. Notwithstanding chapters 13 and 14 of this title or any other contrary provision of law, the Secretary of Agriculture, Food and Markets and the Secretary of Commerce and Community Development shall have the authority to enter into one or more written contracts with persons or entities for the administration of the Program.
Any such contract shall provide for the sufficient oversight, review, and control by the Secretary of Agriculture, Food and Markets and by the Secretary of Commerce and Community Development, or their designees, to ensure that the Program purposes are achieved. Where they deem it appropriate, the Secretary of Agriculture, Food and Markets and the Secretary of Commerce and Community Development may enter into a memorandum of understanding concerning the operation of the Program or concerning the contracting with persons or entities for the administration of the Program.
The Secretary of Agriculture, Food and Markets and the Secretary of Commerce and Community Development issue rules to carry out the purposes of this subchapter. (Added 1991, No. 182 (Adj. Sess.), § 1; 2001, No. 63, § 224a.)
