§ 2273. Agency of Transportation; duties; general authority
The Agency of Transportation is authorized to contract in the name of the State for the service of independent contractors under bond to carry on at the contractor’s expense junk car collection and disposal operations. The Agency shall maintain a continuing inventory of junk cars for disposal, select areas appropriate for collection, storage, and disposal of junk motor vehicles, and have general authority to contract and do all things reasonably necessary to carry out the purposes of this subchapter.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this subchapter, the Agency may petition the Superior Court of the county in which a junk motor vehicle is discovered in violation of section 2271 of this title for an order directing the owner to remove the motor vehicle from view of the main traveled way of the highway.
