§ 120. Contract for payment of certain health benefits
The Commissioner may contract with a private organization to process the payment of in-patient hospital care, and physician, radiological, and other medical costs related thereto under the maternal, child health, and children with physical disabilities’ plans of the Department of Health. Such a contract shall provide for cancellation upon reasonable notification by the Commissioner. In furtherance of the purposes of the contract, the Commissioner may requisition funds, with the approval of the Governor, and the Commissioner of Finance and Management shall issue a warrant in favor of the contracting party to permit the contracting party to make payments to vendors under the contract.
The Commissioner shall quarterly, and at such other times as the Commissioner of Finance and Management requires, render an account in such form as the Commissioner of Finance and Management prescribes of the expenditures of monies so advanced.
