§ 407. Compensation of officers; appointees
(a)Compensation paid to the Selectboard members and other elected officials shall be set by the voters at the annual meeting. Officers’ salaries must be set forth as a separate item in the annual budget presented to the meeting.
(b)The Selectboard shall fix the compensation of all appointees and the Town Manager, except as otherwise provided in this charter.
(c)Except as hereinafter provided, all fees prescribed by State law, charter, ordinance, or otherwise shall be collected for the benefit of the Town and paid to the Town Treasurer. No fees shall be used directly by any receiving officer or inure directly to the benefit of the officer. (Amended 2001, No. M-7, § 2, eff. May 21, 2001; 2007, No. M-1, § 3, eff.
