§ 39. Compensation and fees
(a)The Town election shall annually vote the compensation to be paid to the following officers:
(1)Selectboard members;
(2)[Repealed.]
(3)Moderator.
(b)The Selectboard shall annually consider and from time to time shall set the compensation of the following officers:
(1)Town Clerk;
(2)Constable;
(3)Town Attorney;
(4)Tax Collector;
(5)Town Manager;
(6)Board of Civil Authority;
(7)Board of Abatement; and
(8)Treasurer.
(c)The Town Manager, with approval of the Selectboard, shall set the compensation for all other Town officers and employees.
(d)All fees prescribed by State law, charter, ordinance, or otherwise shall be collected for the benefit of the Town and paid to the Town Treasurer. No fees shall be used directly by any receiving officer or inure directly to the officer. (Amended 2019, No. M-1, § 2, eff. April 19, 2019; 2021, No. M-1, § 2, eff.
