§ 26. Tax abatements
The Board of Civil Authority, along with the Treasurer and the listers, shall constitute the Board of Abatement. The Chair and the Clerk of the Board of Civil Authority shall serve as the Chair and Clerk of the Board of Abatement. The Board of Abatement shall meet at least once a year to consider all the taxpayers’ requests for abatement of their taxes, special assessment, or other levy made by the Town. The Clerk shall call the meeting and public notice of the meeting must appear in at least three public places at least two days prior to the meeting. (Amended 1999, No. M-12 (Adj. Sess.), § 16, eff.
