58-91-305. Identification of constables -- Uniform requirements.
(1)An individual licensed as a constable shall:
(a)carry a copy of the individual's license on the individual's person at all times while acting as a constable; and
(b)display the license upon the request of a peace officer, a representative of the division, or a member of the public.
(2)While performing a duty within the scope of practice of a constable, as described in Section 58-91-301 , a constable shall prominently display a visible form of credentials and identification identifying:
(a)the individual as a constable;
(b)the individual's name; and
(c)the governmental contracting entity for which the constable is acting, if applicable.
(3)If a constable serves process, the constable shall:
(a)verbally communicate to the person being served that the constable is a constable; and
(b)print on the first page of each document served:
(i)the constable's name and identification as a constable;
(ii)the county for which the constable is appointed; and
(iii)a business phone number for the constable.
(4)If a constable wears a uniform, the uniform shall be clearly marked with the word "constable" on the uniform shirt and, if applicable, the jacket.
