57-10-1. Plane coordinate systems designated.
(1)As used in this chapter:
(a)"FGCC" means the Federal Geodetic Control Committee of the United States Department of Commerce.
(b)"NGS" means the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Geodetic Survey.
(a)For purposes of defining and stating the geographic position or location of points on the surface of the earth within the state, the state adopts the plane coordinate systems that the NGS establishes.
(b)The systems described in (2)(a) are known as the "Utah Plane Coordinate System."
(3)The state adopts the 2022 State Plane Coordinate System for use within the state.
(4)References in existing records to the Utah Coordinate System of 1927, or the Utah Coordinate System of 1983, remain valid.
