§ 405. REPORTS.

In General .— The Secretary of Homeland Security shall submit to the Committees on the Judiciary of the House of Representatives and of the Senate reports on the pilot programs within 3 months after the end of the third and fourth years in which the programs are in effect. Such reports shall— assess the degree of fraudulent attesting of United States citizenship, include recommendations on whether or not the pilot programs should be continued or modified, and assess the benefits of the pilot programs to employers and the degree to which they assist in the enforcement of section 274A.
Report on Expansion .— Not later than June 1, 2004 , the Secretary of Homeland Security shall submit to the Committees on the Judiciary of the House of Representatives and the Senate a report— evaluating whether the problems identified by the report submitted under subsection
(a)have been substantially resolved; and describing what actions the Secretary of Homeland Security shall take before undertaking the expansion of the E-Verify Program to all 50 States in accordance with section 401(c)(1), in order to resolve any outstanding problems raised in the report filed under subsection (a).”
