§ 1607. DEFINITIONS.

“For purposes of this subtitle [subtitle A, §§ 1601–1607, of title XVI of div. A of Pub. L. 103–160 , amending section 5859a of this title and enacting this note]: The term ‘appropriate congressional committees’ means— the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Appropriations, the Committee on Foreign Relations, and the Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate; and the Committee on Armed Services [now Committee on National Security], the Committee on Appropriations, the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives.
The term ‘intelligence community’ has the meaning given such term in section 3 of the National Security Act of 1947 ( 50 U.S.C. 401a ) [now 50 U.S.C. 3003 ].”
